Welcome to Beach Front Living in Playa Junquillal
Along a windswept beach, backed by lush grasslands, Playa Junquillal remains a

The newly finished road makes for a quick sixty-minute drive from Liberia International
Airport. Playa Junquillal is recognized as a “treasured getaway” by locals and
foreigners alike. The long stretch (4km) of salt and pepper sand is great for a beach
stroll and the calm surrounding the spectacular sunsets will remind you of a time and
place long forgotten by the hustle of modern society.
Playa Junquillal is divided into two sections Main Beach (North) and Playa Venado
(South).The area around Junquillal is still largely undeveloped and beaches are
tranquil even during high season. There are an abundance of beautiful tide pools in
walking distance of the property, which are large enough for bathing and snorkeling.
The village of Junquillal is a friendly community, where residents are actively involved
in protecting and preserving a clean environment. Junquillal flies the Blue Flag an ecologic award given to clean beaches with pure waters.

Driving south from Playa Junquillal, the
road ends at the estuary of the Rio
Nandamojo. A lagoon has formed behind
the beach and mangrove forests extend
inland. Kayaks can be navigated up the
calm river to admire the water jungle with
its flora and fauna. Besides monkeys and
birds one might see crocodiles on a river
bank. |

It is situated 30 km west of Santa
Cruz and 20 km south of popular
Tamarindo
